If you frequently visit “make money online” circles, you’ll soon make the acquaintance of an ebook purchase option called “resale rights”.
Here’s how this works. You sell your ebook for $47, but offer resale rights for $147. The people who take you up on the resale rights can now offer your ebook for sale too, and can keep all the profits.
This isn’t PLR – they can’t change your ebook in any way. You retain the copyright. However, they CAN sell your ebook, and as stated, get to keep the profits.
Here’s my take on this.
You can offer any rights you choose. Offering resale rights does mean you can make some hefty profits. However, it also means that you’ll be competing with others selling your ebook. Normally, this isn’t a problem – the online world is huge, so your ebook will still sell.
That said, I wouldn’t offer resale rights for any ebook which I considered an evergreen seller – an ebook which I’ll offer for years, and make an income with for years.
Your choice.
By all means offer resale rights if it works for an ebook.
