Got an ebook which isn’t selling? There are few things more annoying than spending your time writing an ebook and then discovering that sales are slow or non-existent. Here are the top three reasons for your lack of sales, and how to turn that around.
1. You’re Missing the “It’s Killing Me” Factor
Bluntly, if no one’s buying your ebook it’s because no one needs it. Every ebook you write, or commission, must have what I call the “It’s killing me” factor. In other words, you need a market which is desperate for the information you provide.
How to Change That
Is your ebook too general?
Let’s say your ebook’s about skin care. That’s too general a topic. Narrow it down to “three secret herbs to eliminate acne for good, and how to use them.”
2. Your Sales Page Needs Work: Show You Feel Their Pain
Your sales page may be killing sales. Is it boring? Full of factual errors? Is it written without enthusiasm? Does it target your specific audience?
The sales page for your ebook doesn’t have to be brilliant, but it does need to be empathize with your target market.
How to Change That
Get feedback on your sales page, ideally from members of your target audience. You’re too close to it to be objective. Then rewrite the sales page.
3. You’re Not Getting Enough of the Right Kind of Traffic to Your Sales Page
If you’ve been focusing on “traffic” you may have lots of expensive traffic, but no buyers.
How to Change That
In this situation, go back and ensure you’re targeting an audience which is desperate for your information. You may need to add material to your ebook.
Then update the sales page, targeting it precisely to the people who need the information.
You’ll now make sales.
