Do you love writing? If so, one of the easiest and best ways to make money online is to write ebooks for others. Ebook authors write ebooks in many price ranges starting from around $2000.
Writing ebooks is a great work from home career. And as with any career, the way you start your career can lead to either a booming income within a couple of months or a constant state of struggle until you give up in despair.
Here’s a process I recommend to my ebook mentoring clients so they can achieve success quickly.
1. Get Known: a Powerful Way to Kick off Your Ebook Career
The challenge for new ebook authors is to convince buyers of your services that you can actually write. So here’s how to get known.
Select a topic for an ebook. The topic can be anything you choose. Here are some topics which are currently popular and which are evergreen, ensuring that they will be popular for years to come: anything related to health, weight loss, or any “how to” topic.
Write your ebook, and offer it for sale. Offer the book with all rights: this means that someone else (the purchaser) will put their name on it as the author.
Selling this ebook will not only give you some money you can invest in promoting your new career, it will also give you lots of confidence.
2. Create a Website to Promote Your Ebook Services
Create a small website. The website doesn’t need to be fancy, in fact it can be less than four pages. Describe your ebook services as comprehensively as you can. Don’t skimp on the contents of the site. Content is what gets you traffic from search engines, and traffic gets you buyers.
3. Promote Your Site and Your Services
The final step is to promote your site. There are endless ways to market your ebook writing services. Here are just a few: article marketing, forum marketing, advertising on online classifieds sites, and advertising on other websites.
The above process gives you a super-fast way to kick off your ebook writing career. It’s a great way to make money working from home.

Looking for ebook ideas? Ebooks can make a very profitable online business. However, to make money, you must have eager buyers.
Take your time when deciding on an ebook idea. Collect lots of ideas, and test them. You’ll spend a lot of time in writing your ebook, and later in selling it, so the time you spend on research will ensure that your ebook is a success.
Here are five of my favorite methods for finding ebook ideas.
1. Read the News
If it’s in the news, people want information on that topic. Read online and offline newspapers, especially local news. Local newspapers will often show you the birth of a trend.
2. Write to Order for Businesses: Custom Ebook Publishing
This method works best for business writers, who are writing for a stable of businesses. Ebooks make great promotional tools, so keep your eyes open for ebook ideas you can sell to your clients.
You’re looking for ebook ideas which will help people, while subtly promoting your client. For example, green energy and energy saving looks set to be in the forefront of people’s minds for years to come.
Suggest these ebook ideas to your clients. You’ll get paid for writing the ebook.
3. Read Forums
Rather than browsing forums for fun; browse them for ideas. People have the same kinds of challenges month after month. When questions are asked again and again, they contain the nuggets of ideas for ebooks.
4. Read Letters to the Editor
If you enjoy reading magazines, read the letters to the editor. You should get at least one ebook idea per magazine. A writer friend told me last week she found a great ebook idea in the letters in an old magazine at her dentist’s.
5. Study Amazon Bestseller Lists
Whenever there’s a bestselling book on a topic, it may well prove to be a brilliant idea for an ebook.

Want to make great money from your Web writing? You need a process which you can use repeatedly, so that your income increases each month. The secret is to keep everything simple: just do what YOU can do, and leave the rest to others.
The More Products You Write and Sell Online, the More Money You Make
When you begin your Web writing career, you soon realize that the real money is in selling your own products. However, this seems intimidating. How do you get a project online? How do you make money from it?
Remember that the secret is to keep it simple. No one knows everything. The Web is so huge and complex that it’s impossible to master every aspect. Therefore, you out-source whatever you can’t do, or find difficult or unpleasant.
For example, let’s say that you want to start a new blog on marine aquariums. It’s your hobby, you love it, and you know that since people are searching for information on this topic, a blog would be profitable. But you don’t know how to buy a domain name and hosting, or how to install a blog. So out-source it. You should be able to get it done in a few hours for under $50.
Now let’s look at your “idea to income” process. You can use this to write a constant stream of ebooks, reports, blogs, courses, classes, and seminars on any topic you choose.
1. Choose a Project
First comes the idea. I like to give myself a month from idea to income. Choosing a project which will be profitable takes longest. Once you have a possibility, check whether others are selling similar products. Try to estimate whether they’re making money, and how much. (If you don’t know how to do this, you know what to do now: out-source it, and get a competitive intelligence report.)
2. Get It Online
Next, create your product. Yes, you’re a writer, but once you’ve written the outline, and the introduction, the project is solid. You can now out-source the rest of the project if you wish, or you can write it yourself. I like to write all my own projects, because I enjoy it.
Once the project’s done, write a sales page and set up payment processing. (Yes, hire it done, if you don’t know how.)
3. Promote It
No product sells itself. Promote it via advertising, using both paid and free methods.
4. Make Money
This final step takes care of itself. Keep promoting your product, and then get ready to create another one.
So there you have a process you can use to create products and make money: use it and prosper from your Web writing.
